Health Wise: 7 Tips to Stay Fit

7 Tips to Stay Fit and Healthy!

I should start out by saying that I'm not an expert. In fact, I struggle everyday to stay healthy. However, recently I've started trying to incorporate simple ways to stay healthier in my life and I must admit it's making a substantial difference. I've begun to realize, it's never to late to start making a difference.

1 | Food is your fuel

Staying healthy starts with a balanced diet. I love sugary snacks, so I know how hard it is to eat healthy, but it really make a difference in how you look and feel.  If you're unsure of where to start, don't hesitate to talk with your doctor or find great resources online to lead you in the right direction.

2 | Don't be afraid of water

Drinking at least half of your body weight in ounces of water is a great practice to keep. This cleanses the body from impurities, and keeps you moving and hydrated all day long.

3 |Take Supplements

Although we should try to get all the vitamins we need in our food,  supplements help ensure that you don't miss the daily vitamins you need.

4 | Try to exercise daily

You don't have to go to the gym to exercise. You can walk after work, use stairs instead of an elevator or do chores at home. Just staying active everyday is a great way to relive stress, and stay healthy.

5 | Avoid stress

Try to find time to relax. Taking time out to decompressing is a great way to really enjoy your life and smell the roses. Don't forget to get enough sleep as well, it does wonders for energy levels and productivity.

6 |  Always Use sunscreen

Whether it's winter or summer you should always use sunscreen or lotion that contains SPF. It's a great way to block the suns rays, and keeps your skin looking youthful for decades to come.

7 | Sleep, Sleep & More Sleep

As you get older, it's easy to forget the positive effects of sleep. However, if you don't get adequate sleep it can lead to reduced productivity, weight gain and many other problems. Aiming for 7-8 hours a night is a good rule of thumb.

So what do you do to stay healthy? I know for me these are the essentials but I'm sure there are other tips that you may use in your everyday life.
